Update regarding Emergency Snow Ordinance

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.)- The City of Warrensburg remains in Phase I of the Emergency Snow Ordinance.

Crews continue working to open routes and facilitate emergency services in spite of the rapidly deteriorating conditions. It is estimated that 10 inches of snow fell overnight with the possibility of another 12 inches throughout the day. Warrensburg is experiencing downed trees, power lines and related power outages.

Residents are requested to stay home and keep traffic off the roads. Vehicles that get stuck on a street and are blocking snow plow traffic will be towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicles parked on emergency snow routes are also being towed at the owner’s expense.

If your car has been towed, contact Central Dispatch’s non-emergency line at 660-747-2265.

City Hall is closed today and personnel are answering a non-emergency hotline at 660-747-9131. For emergencies, call 911.

Police officers will be responding to emergency calls only at this time.

In the event of a power outage, contact KCP&L at 1-888-544-4852 (LIGHTKC) or 1-816-471-5275 or 1-888-471-5275 for a customer representative. Do not touch or remove power lines and if shoveling, look above for possible tree limbs that could fall.

Municipal Court and the Warrensburg Community Center are also closed today.
