(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., AP) — Authorities say a third suspect has been arrested in a shooting in which bullets hit a Jefferson City school bus loaded with students.
The Jefferson City News-Tribune (http://bit.ly/1SczyOo ) reports that 17-year-old Craig Hawkins Jr., of Jefferson City, was taken into custody this week in Springfield after a foot chase. The other two suspects were arrested shortly after last week’s shooting.
None of the 21 elementary school students aboard the bus at the time were hurt. But police say a person who wasn’t on the bus was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his face and thumb.
Hawkins is jailed without bond in Cole County. He is charged with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. His attorney, Jay Anielak, declined to comment.
