Donald Dean Bodenhamer, 78, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Country Club Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with the Rev. Pete Beard officiating.

Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Warrensburg, the son of Roy and Lucille (Stephenson) Bodenhamer.

He was united in marriage on May 27, 1960, to Carolyn Wirsig in Deepwater, Mo.

Donald worked as an inspector with the Missouri State Highway Department and retired with more than 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn of the home; his son, Rusty Bodenhamer and wife, Melissa, of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; his daughter, Sarah Summers and husband, Dan, of Mission Hills, Kan.; and four grandchildren, Blake and Bobbi Bodenhamer and Danny and Sydney Summers.
