Students for Political Action and UCM’s department of government, international studies and languages along with various campus departments are hosting the 2015 Politics and Social Justice Week.

This year’s theme is Bringing Together a World Divided. The keynote speaker, Reza Aslan, will give a presentation at 7 p.m. April 2 in the Nahm Auditorium in the WC Morris Building. Aslan is a religious studies scholar who has been featured on CNN, Fox News, and “Real Time” with Bill Maher.

Politics and Social Justice Week begins March 30 with a candlelight vigil followed by statements from a variety of community leaders from Warrensburg. Other speakers topics include race and policing, immigration and policing, North Korea and propaganda, judicial activism, Israel and Palestine, the death penalty and executions in Missouri, American exceptionalism and a female head of state, and more.
