(WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo.) – A group of some 25 reservists from the 442nd Fighter Wing will deploy in mid-March in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, according to an Air Force news release.
The reservists, most of whom maintain civilian employment in the local area, are assigned to the 442nd Security Forces Squadron, which is part of the 442nd Fighter Wing.
During their deployed, the reservists will work on base security operations, such as manning entry control points, providing flightline security and conducting vehicle searches, according to the news release.
The 442nd Fighter Wing is an A-10 Thunderbolt II Air Force Reserve unit at Whiteman Air Force Base.
The reservists are scheduled to return in September.
