Birl Romain Ewing, age 84, died on Wed. April 4, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg with Brother Charles Brant officiating. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higinsville with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Rick Ewing, Blane Marshall, Chance Marshall, Eric Greishaber, Kenion Brown, Daton Brown and Justin Thomas Goforth.

The family received friends beginning at 10 a.m. until service time at the the Veterans Home.

Birl was born on Dec. 20, 1933 in Jackson County, Missouri, the son of Elmer B. and Helen E. (Webb) Ewing.

Birl is survived by his wife, Saundra (Goforth) Ewing. He is also survived by his children; Shellie Marshall of Lebanon, Missouri, Richard (Elizabeth Bromly) Ewing of Independence, Missouri and Sarena Brown of Belton, Missouri. He is also survived by a nephew, J.T. Gofroth of Harrisonville, Missouri, as well as nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home of Warrensburg and can be left in care of the funeral home.
