Dates set for the Jim Svoboda Show and Central Missouri Sports Talk

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) The 2012 schedule for the “Jim Svoboda Mules Football Radio Show” has been set. The show will be hosted by 1450 KOKO/98.5 The Bar Sports Director Greg Hassler with Bob Showers of Ameritas Investment Corp. once again serving as the title sponsor.

The show will air on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. on 1450 KOKO and 98.5 The Bar and will be streamed live online at www.warrensburgradio.com. The show will originate from the 1450 KOKO/98.5 The Bar studios. Fans will have a chance to call the live show with questions for Coach Svoboda at (660) 747-9191 or (660) 747-3883. Fans can also email questions to askthecoach@kwkj.com. There will be a trivia contest each week and the winner will receive a prize from UCM Athletics.

In addition to the call-in portion of the show, each program will feature a Mules player profile with 1450 KOKO/98.5 The Bar announcer Corey Brownsberger. Each week Brownsberger will sit down with a member of the team, take a look at the previous game as well as preview that week’s upcoming contest.

Ten shows will be broadcast during the 2012 season starting with the first show on Aug. 29. Other air dates include Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26; Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24 and with the final regular season show airing on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Also, a new season of “Central Missouri Sports Talk” will start on 1450 KOKO on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The show will be hosted by Hassler along with former UCM SID and Voice of the Mules Bill Turnage. The show airs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings and runs throughout the UCM academic calendar year. The show is broadcast live from the KOKO studios. Each week the duo talks UCM Mules and Jennies athletics and other hot topics in the sports world, in addition to interviews with coaches and others from the local sports scene.

The 2012 Mules football game day broadcast crew will consist of UCM Senior Associate Athletic Director Shawn Jones providing play-by-play for the 13th consecutive season, with Turnage providing color commentary and Hassler serving as the sideline reporter and host of the Tailgate and Scoreboard Shows.

The first football broadcast of the season will be Thursday, Aug. 30 when the Mules travel to Missouri Western. The game is set for a 6 p.m. kickoff with the Mules Tailgate Show going on the air at 4:40 p.m. on 1450 KOKO and 98.5 The Bar, 90.9 The Bridge will pick up the broadcast at 6 p.m. for the kickoff.
