(SWEET SPRINGS, Mo., AP) – Saline County officials are investigating the death of a 3-month-old child.

The sheriff’s department says responders who went to the home in rural Sweet Springs early Wednesday found the child on the living room floor covered by a blanket.

The Marshall Democrat-News reports Sheriff Wally George says an autopsy will be performed.

George says a mandatory child death review board would be convened soon.
