Old Drum Open Mic is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Java Junction, 112 N. Holden St. in downtown Warrensburg. The series takes place on the first Thursday of every month.

People who have prescheduled for the program are Cassandra Williamson, who will present chapter two of her biographical story “Being Me”; Rose Marie Kinder will perform the original song “Give Us a Kiss, Billy Boy,” and an original poem; Phil Wagner will present two overlooked songs from the 1970s; Mark Pearce will present “Bad Magician,” and “There’s a Pango Rib in My Berfulator” from his poetry canon; and Dave Wisker will read chapter nine from his futuristic series “The Prophet on the Wall.”

The event is free and open to the public.
