The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri will host pianist Thomas Schumacher in a concert titled “Eastman at Central 2015” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, in the Hart Recital Hall. The event is part of the Guest Artist Series sponsored by the UCM Department of Music. The program will include selections from Beethoven, Wagner-Liszt, Scarlatti, Rachmaninoff, Gould and Gershwin. In addition to his concert performance, Schumacher will teach a public master class from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, March 10, in Hart Recital Hall. Schumacher is professor emeritus of piano in the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, Maryland, and a visiting professor at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.ucmpas.com, download the flier: ts.jpg, or contact Jeffrey Imboden at imboden@ucmo.edu.
