The University of Central Missouri will host the Veterans Summit and Resource Fair Friday, Oct. 7, in Elliott Student Union 240. These free informational events run simultaneously from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Activities include an opportunity to join a dialogue with nationally known Army Ranger Chris Bemiss, as well as informational sessions focused on the needs of military service members and veterans. Those in attendance also can interact with businesses, service providers, and organizations.

Panel discussions throughout the day will offer information about resources and services available to active duty military personnel, veterans and their families. Veteran-friendly employers who are seeking people to fill positions will be among those present.

The Veterans Summit provides an opportunity for participants to meet and interact with expert sources on military and veterans issues and take part in question and answer sessions. Beginning at 1 p.m., UCM Distinguished Alumnus Brig. Gen. Arnold Gordon-Bray (Ret.) will introduce Bemiss, who will lead a “conversation” with the audience. His heartfelt story is the focus of a 2015 film documentary, “The Ranger,”.

This event is free of charge to all who attend.
