Whiteman vice commander speaks at Lifelong Learning event

UCM’s Lifelong Learning series is hosting the vice commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Col. Mark R. Ely, to mark the approaching Pearl Harbor Day with a presentation titled “Whiteman Air Force Base – Upholding a Legacy of Excellence,” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Warrensburg’s Carleton VFW Post 2513, 619 Lakeview Drive.
As second-in-command, Ely ensures the combat readiness of the Air Force’s only B-2 wing, including development and employment of the B-2’s combat capability as part of the Air Force’s Global Strike Task Force, according to a news release.
The program is part of the Lifelong Learning series sponsored by Extended Studies at UCM, and is affiliated with the UCM Alumni and Emeriti Associations. This particular program is co-sponsored by the Carleton VFW Post 2513.
All Lifelong Learning programs are free and open to the public.
