Gary Morris, Holden, Missouri, died Aug. 25, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m., at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m., at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home.

Gary was born Nov. 24, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Wayne Vernon Morris and Glady’s M. (Kohler) Morris. Gary married Sherald Phelps Oct. 1, 1967, and worked as a truck driver for A-1 Rental. Gary and Sherald moved to the Holden area from Raytown, Missouri, 13 years ago.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and by two sisters; Beverly Smith and Laura Starr. He is survived by his wife, Sherald of the home, One son, Gary Wayne Morris and wife Melanie, of Holden, Missouri; One daughter, Teresa Ann Knapp and husband Daniel, Tonganoxie, Kansas; Two brothers, Wayne Morris and wife Beverly, Blue Springs, Missouri, Larry Morris and wife Janice, Raymore, Missouri; one sister, Sharon Block and husband Jerry, Raytown, and Five Grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Gary Morris.

Interment will be at the Gilbert Cemetery, Holden, following the service.
