Peggy Irene Hutcheson, 73, of Holden, Missouri, died Thursday, Nov. 17, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with the Rev. Charles Brant officiating.

There will be a private burial in the Holden Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Peggy was born June 16, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Donald and Evelyn (Nevels) Curtin. She was raised in Denver. Shortly after graduation from high school, she moved to Kansas City where she did secretarial work. Peggy was united in marriage to Keith G. Hutcheson on Oct. 13, 1962, in Boone County, Arkansas. The couple resided in Raytown, Missouri, for several years prior to moving to Holden in 1973. She retired in 2005 from G.E. in Warrensburg. Peggy loved the campgrounds.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Spilman and husband, Doug, of Holden; brother, Tom Curtin, of Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Matthew Spilman and wife, Sarah, of Kingsville, Missouri; Christopher Spilman and wife, Rebecca, of Columbia, Missouri; Nathan Spilman, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Ryan Spilman, of Lee’s Summit; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Theo, Lucas and Caiden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Evelyn; husband, Keith; and son, Donald “Ward” Hutcheson.

 

Memorial contributions are suggested to Johnson County Cancer Foundation in care of the funeral home.
