Roberta “Bertie” Jarolim, 92, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Wednesday, June 20, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Knob Noster with Pastors David Jordan and Don Hill officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles Woodall III, Tom Russell, Bill Helfer, Ronnie Stewart, Charles Woodall II, and Sam Woodall. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Woodall IV and Declan Magner.
Roberta was born on May 24, 1926, in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the only child of Fred Grant and Arke DeHaven (Yokley) Robinson.
On March 3, 1947, in Mission, Kansas, she united in marriage to Adolf D. “True” Jarolim.
She obtained her Bachelor’s in Education from CMSU and was a sixth grade teacher for Knob Noster Junior High. She retired after 39 years of teaching. She was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain for family and friends. She founded “Bertie’s Beauties,” a card club which still exists to this day. She was also an excellent bingo player and loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Danna LaHue and significant other, Tom Russell, of Lake Lotawana, Missouri; stepson, Kirby Jarolim and wife, Patti Jarolim, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Karen Dominguez and husband, Salim Dominguez, of Tucson, Arizona; granddaughter, Stephanie Woodall and husband, Charles Woodall III, and their two children, Charles IV and Stella Roberta, all of Springfield, Missouri; granddaughter, Lynsey Magner and her son, Declan Magner, both of Blue Springs, Missouri; and a host of dear friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Arke Robinson; husband, Adolf D. “True” Jarolim, in 1999 and son-in-law, Robert LaHue, in 2002.
Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Knob Noster and checks may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
