(LEETON, Mo.) – A Warrensburg man died Saturday afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle on Missouri Route 2 at SE 171 Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Alan J. Woods, 53, drove off the roadway twice before his vehicle struck a cable box and an embankment, according to Highway Patrol reports.

Woods was ejected as the vehicle overturned. He was pronounced dead at Research Medical Center. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to trooper reports.

His passenger, Harvey F. Woods Jr., 57, of Leeton, Mo., suffered serious injuries and was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center.

The accident occurred two miles north of Leeton, Mo.
