The Crest Ridge girls basketball team defeated St. Paul 48-43 Monday in the Lone Jack I-70 Conference Tournament.

Crest Ridge trailed 13-9 at the half and came back to tie the game 15-15 in the third frame.

“We played sloppy at times and rushed a lot offensively in the first half,” said coach Katie Woolsey. “The girls calmed down and showed better patience in the second half. It was a good team effort and the girls stepped up in the fourth quarter and finished the game.”

The lead scorers for Crest Ridge were: Mel Branscum, 13 points; Bre Wonderly, 14; and Lily Hunter, 11.
