Donnabelle Mae Higgins, 83, Holden, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 13, at Holden Manor Care Center.

Cremation under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, Mo.  A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Forward Community Church in Holden.

She was born Aug. 16, 1930 in Grover, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Louise (Pickle) Andrews.  She graduated from Grover High School and married Harold William “Doc” Higgins on August 18, 1949 in Shurbon, Minn.  He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 2007.

Donnabelle lived in the Holden and Blairstown communities most of her life.  She worked as a custodian at the Holden City Hall for many years.  She was a Baptist.

Surviving her passing are one son Rick Higgins; one brother, Ronald Andrews, Butte, Montana; two sisters, Bernice Gorham and Sharon Theesfield, both in Grover, Iowa; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Lorene Higgins, Holden, Mo.  Also preceding her in death were a brother, Lloyd Andrews, and a sister, Norma Smith.
