Geraldine “Gerry” Glee Mergener, 70, of Warrensburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 24 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with the Rev. Bill Runyon officiating. Pallbearers will be David Mergener, Adam Mergener, Daniel Schantz, Brian Whitney, Dustin Medlin and Vincent Rouse.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Duffield, Jerry Whitney, Shannon Hills, Doug Dyer, Zakaria Mergener, David Shane Mergener, Joel Duffield, Mason Lasswell, Tommy Capps and Caleb MacDonald.

Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of O.R. and Danetta (Hamilton) Cull.

She was united in marriage to George Peter “Pete” Mergener on Jan. 18, 1975, in Warrensburg.

Gerry was a 1961 graduate of Raytown High School in Raytown, Mo.  She worked as a legal secretary at the Yokota Air Base in Japan and later on worked at Central Missouri State University in the physical education department for several years. Gerry spent her whole life as a homemaker, caring for her family and loved doing it. She attended the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg.

Gerry is survived by her husband, George; six daughters, Diana Lynn Duffield and husband, Kenny, of Georgia; Deborah Ann Dyer and husband, Doug, of Clinton, Mo.; Vanessa Joy Whitney and husband, Jerry of Perry, Ga.; Christina Jane Boyce of Rome, Ga.; Kimberly Dawn Hills and husband, Shannon, of Clinton, Mo.; and Barbara Sue Lasswell and husband, Matt; two sons, David Kenneth Mergener and wife, Shelley, of Moberly, Mo.; and Adam Peter Mergener and wife, Tamara, of Midlothian, Texas; one brother, Dick Cull of North Kansas City, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in-law, Sandy Cull.
