Jack Thacker

Jack Thacker, 60, of Knob Noster, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 28 at St. Luke’’s Hospital in Kansas City.

The family will receive friends from noon- 1 p.m. followed by a funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Boston Cemetery Near Pettigrew, Ark.

Jackie Lynn Thacker was born Oct. 5, 1953, in Pettigrew, Ark., son of Chester Leroy Thacker and Elva Alice (Bryant) Thacker. He graduated from high school in St. Paul, Ark. He was united in marriage to Bona D. Sowash. The couple lived in Texas for several years, where Jack was employed at feedlots and did ranch work. He and Bona bought a farm near Windsor, Mo., in 1991. In 2008, Jack moved to Clinton. He had resided near Knob Noster since 2010. Competitive team roping was his life.

Survivors include his special friend, Pamela Plummer of Knob Noster, Mo.; daughter, Shannon Kreps of Owasso, Okla.; son, Levi Kreps and wife, Angela, of Verdigris, Okla.; three sisters, Norma Jean McSperitt and husband, Don of Pettigrew; Carmella Patrick and husband, Jimmy, of Pettigrew; and Karra Ann Sams of Hinesville, Ark.; four brothers, Francis Thacker and wife, Nellie, of Pettigrew; Coy Thacker and wife, Carolyn, of Inola, Okla.; Elmer Thacker and wife, Joan, of Inola, Okla.; and Eddie Thacker and wife, Connie, of Inola; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Bona, in 1998 and both parents.
