The Jennies’ 130.65 points are 24 points behind No. 1 Ashland. They are slightly less than two points ahead of No. 3 Grand Valley State. The Jens are tied with Grand Valley for the highest amount of events with student-athletes ranked in the top-10 with 11. They also are in the top-3 in two events with Erika Kinsey leading the nation in the high jump and triple jump.
The Mules dropped a spot to No. 8 with 92.35 points. Saint Augustine jumped two teams from No. 8 last week to No. 6. UCM trails No. 7 Colorado Mines by 15 points. The Mules are in the top-10 in five events and have two in the top-3 including Cole Phillips, No. 2 in the pole vault and the 4x400m relay, also at No. 2.
UCM will remain home as the MIAA Championships head to Warrensburg this weekend. In addition to the Jennies, Lincoln (No. 8), and Pittsburg State (No. 10) are also ranked by the USTFCCCA. The Mules are also the top vote getter in the MIAA with Missouri Southern (No. 14), Pittsburg State (No. 16), Nebraska-Kearney (No. 19) and Emporia State (No. 21) also in the top-25.
The three-day championship meet starts Friday, Feb.27 at 3 p.m. with the multi-events. It will continue Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m., with the crowning of the team champions.
