(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — Don’t be surprised if you see superheroes, villains, a power ranger and a ghostbuster wandering around the Elliott Student Union this weekend.

Stealth Con is coming to campus this Friday and Saturday, hosted by the 509th Force Support Squadron from Whiteman Air Force Base.

Stealth Con will have vendors, gaming, cosplay contests, art contests and other activities. Stealth Con will also have four celebrity guests: Katrina Law from “CSI: Miami,” Casper Van Dien from “Starship Troopers,” David Yost from “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” and Ernie Hudson from “Ghostbusters.”

Stealth Con is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Joshua Bailey, community program and partnership specialist from WAFB, said airmen from Whiteman are organizing the event because of their enjoyment for participating and traveling to comic cons.

“UCM is a great community,” Bailey said. “Warrensburg itself is great about combining with the base, and we’re just lucky to be here.”

Bailey said they contacted the celebrities by working with booking agencies Heroes for Hire and Galactic Productions.

“I’ve always wanted to visit an event like this,” said Ali Harper, a senior pre-occupational therapy major. “I’m excited to finally have one so close to me.”

There will be an art contest with three different age categories, two cosplay contests for adults and one for kids. There will also be a wide range of multiplayer gaming options available such as Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Xbox One games, Playstation 4 games and even classic board games.

Also present at Stealth Con, will be a variety of vendors, one being independently published author and Warrensburg native, James Young. Young said he is excited to make Stealth Con his 10th con and will have signed books, paintings and reproductions of his cover art at his booth.

Along with vendors, expect special appearances from cosplay guests Ultra Girls Cosplay, Brittney Baldwin, Crunk Panda, Ladyred Cosplay and more. Also present will be special guest artists Kipsworld Art and David Harris Illustration.

Tickets are available online and at the door with varying prices and packages available. Discounts are available for military/first responders, and UCM students who use the code “GOMULES.” Cosplaying is encouraged but not required.
