(WENTZVILLE, Mo., AP) — A woman and two young children are dead following a three-vehicle accident in eastern Missouri.

The accident happened about 7:45 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 61 near Wentzville. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the woman’s northbound car was struck from behind, causing both cars to spin out of control and cross the median into southbound lanes, where one of them struck a sport utility vehicle.

The woman, along with a young girl and an infant in her car, were all killed. The SUV driver suffered moderate injuries.

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear. Names of the victims have not been released.
