(VERSAILLES, Mo., AP) — A central Missouri man was sentenced to six years in prison for the shooting death of another man in July 2010.

Sixty-one-year-old James Wager of Stover was sentenced Thursday for involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the death of 39-year-old Nathan Walker of Ivy Bend.

Wager had been originally charged with first-degree murder.

Investigators say Wager drove to Walker’s home and the two men began arguing. When Walker reached for a gun in his car, Wager grabbed it first and fired once.
