(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) – Robin Allen has lived in Warrensburg for the past 35 years. She works as a business owner and broker at Home Rentals and Management, and said she is ready to take on the task of a City Council member.

The Warrensburg City Council has two open seats and four candidates on the April 8 ballot. Joining Allen on the ballot are Casey Renfrow, Don Butterfield and Mike Watts.

Allen said she wants to use her knowledge and experience as a resident and business owner to help improve the city.

“I would love to help the current council members in making the right decisions for Warrensburg residents and business owners like myself,” Allen said. “I feel since I am a business owner, I can bring some of my knowledge to the table and help with some of the difficult decisions that need to be made to help our town grow.”

Allen said she looks forward to having a chance to work with local residents.

“I love people, I love to work with them and I want to listen to what they have to say,” Allen said. “I will try my best to understand what they might need and to have this town prosper.”

Allen and her husband, Tim, have been married for more than 25 years and together they have raised four children.

“I have three boys and one girl who are all WarrensburgHigh School graduates now and on their own,” she said. “Now I have some spare time on my hands to help out this town that I love so much.”

Allen has worked at Home Rentals and Management for 20 years and manages approximately 387 properties with some 90 owners.

“Every day is a different day at Home Rentals,” Allen said. “I truly love my job.”

She encourages voters in the city to vote and help make a difference in the community.

“My goal is to get the word out and vote,” Allen said. “We only had 8 percent of the community vote last year, so we need a good turnout.”
