(JONESBORO, Ark.) — In their first action the new year, fourth-ranked Jennies Bowling finished in fourth place at the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Classic. The Jennies went 1-2 on the final day of competition and finished 8-4 overall for the tournament.
The Jennies opened bracket play on Sunday falling to the hosts, Arkansas State, 4-3 (158-215, 178-216, 213-180, 223-190, 189-244, 217-207, 209-212). The Jens rebounded to beat Stephen F. Austin 4-2 (173-185, 233-187, 175-208, 205-188, 190-156, 202-176). In the third place match, UCM dropped a 4-3 match to top-ranked Nebraska (184-207, 205-196, 193-181, 221-235, 200-187, 180-215, 191-170).
Central Missouri finished the tournament with 13,839 total pins, the third most, and a 197.7 per game team average. Carly Thomas finished 10th individually with a 205.4 average. Mary Wells was 19th at 197.9 andHaley Richard was 22nd with a 197.1.
The Jennies are back in action Jan. 23-25 at the Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pennsylvania.
