(ST. LOUIS, AP) — A member of St. Louis’ governing board says he expects public hearings next week over the city’s financing of a proposed new riverfront football stadium.

As a member of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, Steve Conway chairs the panel’s Ways and Means Committee. He tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1GZnAFO) that he’s putting together a schedule for the hearings and should have that sorted out by the end of this week.

On Monday, the board’s president, Lewis Reed, assigned to Conway’s committee a financing bill filed last week.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke wants to move the franchise to Los Angeles. Although a new billion-dollar stadium is being proposed in St. Louis, it’s unclear if the city will have an NFL team when such a stadium is finished.
