Dorothy Marie McConville

Dorothy Marie McConville, 85, of Holden, Missouri, died Friday, Feb. 19, at Holden Manor Care Center.

Dorothy was born April 24, 1930, in Holden, the daughter of Fines B. Scearce and Hazel M. (Shore) Scearce. She was raised in Holden. She worked as a seamstress at the Pleasant Hill Shirt Factory for several years. Later, Dorothy was employed at Unitog in Holden until retiring. She enjoyed working puzzles.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Friedrich and husband, Reimund, of Kansas City; and Susan Higgins, of Independence; two sons, Jim McConville, and wife, Donna, of Peculiar; and Ron McConville, of Holden; six grandchildren, Keith Woolery and wife, Katie, of Gladstone; Larry McConville and wife, Michelle, of Belton; Melissa Kinne and husband, Clint, of Holden; Bobby Brown, of Jefferson City; Jason Thurber, of Kansas City; and Justin Thurber, of Kansas City; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville, on Sept. 19, 1979; and three sisters, Pauline Atkinson, Virginia Jasper and Nadine Crabtree.

Memorial visitation was Sunday, Feb. 21, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.

There will be a private interment in the Holden Cemetery at a later date.
