(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The city is asking that vehicles be removed from emergency snow routes as snow is expected this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill issued a Winter Storm Watch for snow from 6 p.m. Saturday until Sunday night.

The forecast calls for accumulation of 1 or more inches of sleet and 4-9 inches of snow possible throughout the night and continuing until Sunday evening.

Phase I of the city’s Emergency Snow Ordinance will go into effect at 6 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.

Vehicles left along Emergency Snow Routes once the ordinance goes into effect will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Phase I includes the following streets:

Gay Street, from Water to Ridgeview

South Street, from Main to Maguire

Grover Street, from Holden to Mitchell

Clark Street, from Holden to Mitchell

Houx Street, from Washington to Holden

Washington, from Business 50 to Houx

Warren, from Business 50 to Hunt

Holden, from Cleveland to Gay

Holden, from Grover to Hale Lake Road

College, Business 50 to South

Mitchell Street, from Gay to DD Highway

Burkarth Road, from Gay to Business 50

Ridgeview, from Gay to Montserrat

Clark Street, from Main Street to Springridge Road

Springridge Road, from Clark Street to one-tenth (1/10) mile north to Timberline Drive

Warren Street, from Young Street to Russell Avenue

Russell Avenue, from Warren Street to Maguire

Ridgeview Drive, from Corporate Drive to railroad tracks

City officials also advise that people remove their vehicles from all city streets to help facilitate snow removal efforts.
