(ST. LOUIS, AP) — Authorities have identified a 59-year-old man who was fatally shot in St. Louis near Fairground Park.

Police say Gregory Smith was found on the front porch of a home around 8:15 p.m. Saturday by officers who were patrolling the area and were flagged by a person who told them about the victim. Authorities say he had a gunshot wound to the lower back.

Smith was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

No suspects are in custody. An investigation is ongoing.
