(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., AP) — The former owner of a Jefferson City business was sentenced to seven years in prison for starting a fire at the business.
The Jefferson City News-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1KfdZHe ) Kurt Steidley, of Knob Noster, was sentenced Wednesday for second-degree arson. The fire was started New Year’s Day 2011 at the Sporting Goods warehouse.
Steidley was found guilty for the second time in September. A 2014 verdict was set aside after a judge determined he should not have allowed some evidence in the first trial.
Steidley will remain free during the appeals process.
