The U.S. Department of Homeland Security to Missouri had earlier informed the state that its exemption from federal Real ID requirements will come to an end Jan. 10. That would mean that a state driver’s license couldn’t be used as identification to enter most federal facilities.

But on Wednesday, the Marshal’s Office said in a statement that it is not changing “identification and security procedures in response to the Real ID Act” for the federal courthouse in St. Louis.

State elected officials say they are working on a solution to the problem over state driver’s licenses.
