(APPOMATTOX, Va., AP) — Police have arrested an Appomattox County man suspected of kidnapping a 14-year-old Missouri girl.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1OYDaiu) reports Virginia State Police announced Tuesday they have arrested 28-year-old Edward Anderson on charges including abduction with intent to defile, rape and possession of child pornography.
Police say Anderson met the girl online and traveled to her Missouri home so they could drive to Appomattox County, Virginia, on Dec. 22.
Authorities were notified on Christmas about a girl being held against her will at a home in Appomattox County. Troopers then went door-to-door looking for the girl, who was located at Anderson’s residence without incident.
The teen was evaluated at a hospital and has since been reunited with her family.
Anderson is scheduled for a hearing Wednesday. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
