Central Missouri Repertory Theatre will present “Erin Elevator’s Extraordinary Adventure” by Claudia I. Hass this summer at six locations in west-central Missouri.

This children’s show, directed by UCM Chair and Professor of Theatre Richard Herman, is a story about a young boy seeking an extraordinary adventure. Erin sets out to rescue a baby dragon from the dangerous “Wild Island.”  Along the way, Erin realizes that he must use his wits, bravery and cunning to outsmart numerous jungle animals including a gorilla, lion, crocodile, wild boars and a rhino. The play involves audience participation as the children help Erin in his quest to set free the dragon.

Free public performances of “Erin Elevator’s Extraordinary Adventure” will take place at six sites in west-central Missouri: June 10 at Whitman Air Force Base Community Center; June 11 at Camp Wonderland, Lake of the Ozarks; June 12 at the Farris Theatre in Richmond; June 17 at Carrollton Elementary School in Carrollton; June 18 at Grover Park in Warrensburg; and June 19 at Indian Foothills Parks and Recreation in Marshall. All performances start at 10 a.m.

The company includes Connor Bosworth as Erin; Nellie Maple as Elegian, Turtle Gee, Tigerina and Lionhearted; Daniel Parman as Father Erin, Turtle Dee, Tigerata and Croc; Bryson Kenworthy as Sailor Sam, Boarus, Rhino and Gorillala; and Kacy Barta as Sailor Sab, Boarum, Tigerola and Monkeycam.

Assistant professor of theatre Victoria Depew is the scenic designer; Rosie Swanson is costume and makeup designer; Elizabeth Pecher is scenic and properties construction and Nehemiah Campbell is stage manager and sound designer. Colette E. Tilden serves is the office professional.
