(ST. LOUIS, AP) — A St. Louis teenager has been charged with an attempted-robbery killing.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1Q54gF6 ) reports that 17-year-old Montrell Jeffery is jailed on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Trevon D. Chapple, also 17. Bail is set at $1 million cash-only. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
A witness told police that Jeffery pulled a gun on Chapple last month while the teens were passengers in a car. Charges say Jeffery then shot Chapple as Chapple ran from the car. Chapple was found dead on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head.
