Mules golf finishes sixth at Missouri Intercollegiate

(COLUMBIA, Mo.) – In a field almost entirely consisting of Division I programs, the Central Missouri Mules golf team earned a sixth-place finish at the COG Mizzou Intercollegiate, shooting a combined 890 (+26) through the three-round tournament at The Club at Old Hawthorne.

Sophomore Cy Moritz led the Mules with a final score of 221 (+5), to finish in a tie for 16th place. Moritz shot the low round of the tournament for the Mules, with a 70 (-2) in the second round of play on Monday. Sophomore Sam Migdal finished just one stroke behind at 222 (+6), tied for 18th.

The top four finishers for the Mules came within just four strokes of each other, as Travis Mays shot a 223 (+7), to place tied for 26th, and Robby Hughey finished with a 224 (+8). Hughey shot the lowest final round for the Mules, with a 73 (+1). Senior Jason Vann finished in a tie for 50th, shooting a 235 (+19) for the tournament.

The Mules are back in action next week, when they travel to Joplin to compete in the Missouri Southern Invitational at Twin Hills Country Club. The two-day tournament is set for Monday-Tuesday, April 15-16.
