Sandra F. Culp, 63, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 30 at her home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg with the Rev. Louie Lowe officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Donohoe, Scott Dunham, Perry Dunkeson, Bob Lotspeich, Danny Plott and Rod Pock. Honorary pallbearers will be the Delta Lamda Chapter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and the Ya Ya Girls.

A private family interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at the church.

She was born July 26, 1949, in Odessa, Mo., the daughter of Herbert H. and Wyota (Robbins) Kite.

She was united in marriage to John E. Culp on June 6, 1969, in Warrensburg.

Sandy was a 1967 graduate of Wellington High School in Wellington, Mo. She received her bachelor’s degree in education in 1971 and her master’ degree in 1973 from Central Missouri State University.  Sandy taught in Odessa, Pleasant Hill, Harrisonville and in the Knob Noster School District at Whiteman ABF, retiring in 2001. She then supervised student teachers at the University of Central Missouri.  Sandy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O., Secunda Club, Beta Sigma Phi, and was a volunteer at Western Missouri Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, John; one son, John David Culp and wife, Stephanie, of Warrensburg; her mother, Wyota Kite, of Lexington, Mo.; two sisters, Glenda Brooks, of Lexington; and Carolyn Tuttle, of Higginsville, Mo.; three grandchildren, James Dayln and Ashlyn Lea Culp, and Selah Kilgore; her mother in-law, Dorothy Culp, of Warrensburg; her brother in-law, Ron Culp and wife, Linda, of Overland Park, Kan.; one niece, Erin Leonard; seven nephews, Brett and Evan Culp; Chris and Larry Brooks; and Adam and Andrew Bear.

Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Leigh Culp Botgat, on May 2, 2009; her father, Herbert H. Kite; and father in-law, Clarence Culp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grandchildren Education Fund with checks made payable to Sandra Culp Educational Fund and can be left at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
