Vinita Flo Hendrickson

Vinita Flo Hendrickson, 90, of Knob Noster, died Thursday, Oct. 4 in Overland Park, Kan., at the home of her daughter Barbara along with granddaughters Rachel and Emily sharing in her care.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Knob Noster with Brother Rick Aulgur and Pastor Jeff Merrick officiating.  Pallbearers will be David Treat, Richard Marunda, Darrin Mitchell, Jimie James, Jeff James, and Jason James.  Honorary pallbearer will be Marshall Treat.

Interment will follow at Knob Noster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born May 29, 1922, in Cureall, Mo., the daughter of Harrison and Reva (Riley) Garrett.

She was united in marriage March 13, 1943 to Mendal Earl Hendrickson in Greenville, S.C., and shared 60 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2003.

Vinita was a wonderful wife and mother.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and enjoyed making crafts and attending craft shows.

Vinita is survived by three daughters, Joyce James and husband Jimie of Warrensburg; Barbara Kinsey of Overland Park, Kan.; and Judy Treat (Marshall) of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, MarkElla Thompson of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ira and Billy Garrett; four sisters, Helen Jane, Justeen, Fay and Zella.
